Yesterday I posted the Checks and Balances Story about the mysterious disappearance of Krinkie and Knoblach signs from the SD 52 convention.
I talked with John McCallum, chair of the SD 52 Republicans. He told me it was true that Krinkie and Knoblach signs disappeared. He told me that Bachmann signs replacing those "never happened".
McCallum also told me that he required all candidates that wanted to speak at the convention sign a pledge to abide by endorsement. One of the candidates was quite resistant to this - but McCallum would not reveal who.
McCallum also said that Bachmann's campaign may have alienated some of her supporters with her heavy handed tactics with pushing her delegate slate.
The convention endorsed house candidates. The state senate endorsement convention is scheduled for after the congressional district convention. McCallum has been getting calls from Republican activists in the district requesting that this convention be moved up. |
