Tony Garcia gives more background on Michele Bachmann's interview with Race to the Right.
Just to clear something up about our interview with her in August.
We started a series called Getting To Know You. The objective was simply to hear the fluffy side of the candidates. We knew there would be the ugly side to eventually cover, but that was for later.
2 days prior to Bachmann's scheduled appearance she called and indicated she could not be in studio after all since St Cloud is too far to drive (odd excuse, but it was our first month on the air and did not want to fret that yet).
10 minutes before her interview one of her campaign workers called and said she will not take any calls. We told her we did not anticipate any, though we were always intending to take any callers that came in.
So, the fluff then was intentional. And since the 6th CD Forum at the Mermaid my choices were between Krinkie and Esmay. I knew Knoblach was a moderate and that Bachmann was truth-challenged.
