Schumacher Comments on Michele Bachmann's Politico Interview

Political Quarry in the St Cloud Times:

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., offers her thoughts to Politico's Daniel Libit in an interview she gave while he was driving her to the airport to fly back to Minnesota.

In it, she talks about the price of gas, the price of food, he love for incandescent light bulbs, and why a summer gas tax holiday might not be the best idea.

Tell me what pops out to you (besides the fact that she misstates the Minnesota Highway 23 DeSoto Bridge as needing "repair" instead of replacement).

Good point. The usual rule applies with the Politico Interview: take a drink every time Michele Bachmann tells a lie.

Update: Michele Bachmann appears stung by the criticism. She now has a post on her blog about the DeSoto bridge.

Bachmann refused to seek earmarks
Michele Bachmann is lying again. Governor Pawlenty didn't just happen to forego a federal earmark for the bridge replacement. Michele Bachmann signed a pledge to refuse to seek ANY federal earmarks in the budget for her district. Here she is in her own words:

“That is why I have joined a bipartisan group of colleagues in pledging not to seek earmarks this year, while we fight to reform this dysfunctional system. Hopefully, our stand against the status quo will help motivate the Democrat leadership to start respecting the American taxpayer and deliver the change they have demanded.”

Another day, another lie for Michele Bachmann.
