Bachmann's DC Staff Doesn't Know What the Star Tribune Is

Star Tribune editorial writer and digital producer Susan Hogan tweets:

Fella at Michelle Bachmann's DC office asked me whether Star Tribune was a local or national newspaper. "I think I've heard of it," he said.

Will Bachmann Join Rep. Mark Olson in Promoting $100 Million Pod Transport Scheme in Anoka County?

Rob Jacobsm the President of a company called Smart Infrastructure recently, pitched a Personal Rapid Transit scheme to Coon Rapids:

COON RAPIDS, Minn. -- A new mode of transportation could one day connect Northstar train riders to stores and businesses in the Riverdale area.

It's called "Personal Rapid Transit" or PRT. The system runs on specially-built tracks. The idea is being pitched by a local businessman.

"It's no waiting, no stopping, aways have a seat, always ready."

Pod cars used for Personal Rapid Transit can take you non-stop to your destination. It's an old idea that would use new, smaller vehicles with seating for five.

Robert Jacobs with Smart Infrastructure pitched the idea this week at a City Council worksession. He's says the system would connect the Northstar Commuter Rail station with key areas of Coon Rapids.

And the pricetag for the pods ... hold on to your hat...

County officials also saw the PRT presentation at the worksession. It's clear that everyone's interested in a self-sustaining project. The estimated cost of the project is $100 million.

$100 MILLION DOLLARS !!!

And guess who is the lobbyist for Smart Infrastructure? Michele Bachmann's pal, the former Rep. Mark Olson. Remember when Bachmann promoted the pods with Rep. Mark Olson and Dean Zimmermann back in 2004? Will she help her old buddies again as they ask for public money for the pods?

Reporters really need to ask Bachmann if she still supports the pods.

Excellent Article by Karl Bremer About Bachmann and the Stillwater Bridge

Read it at Ripple in Stillwater.

Bachmann has been grandstanding for years on the Stillwater Bridge.

This is what MnDot wants to do to the river with some additional finishing touches... a few nukes and other crap favored by Bachmann:

Michele Bachmann's Meet the Press Appearance

My impression is that she didn't answer the questions that were asked. She was asked whether she would hold the whole budget bill hostage over issues like Planned Parenthood and the EPA.

UPDATE: Video from Bachmann's Youtube channel:

Dump Bachmann's Condollences to PR Chris

From the comments:

Off topic, but I wanted to share with community I've become a part of, my dad passed away at 1:05 this afternoon PST, with the support of a wonderful hospice program in the county. He was almost 90...his birthday would have been in April. While it is hard to watch, we had much support, and he was not in pain during this time.

I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again for the first time in 2 months, and without interruption. (My cats will probably wonder why I don't leave them in an hour or so...LOL). It was my privilege to be able to help dad through this period, and a growth period for me. Having been a minister for 35+ years, I've been around hospice, but going through it with my dad is a different experience.

From all of us here in the DB community, our thoughts are with you Pastor Chris as you go through this difficult time.

Michele Bachmann Says Different Things to Different Audiences Again

New York Times:

Similarly, Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, who leads the House Tea Party caucus, has not addressed the statute, even as she released statements concerning President Obama’s budget, and freedom of choice in light bulbs.

“She does not support gay marriage,” said Doug Sachtleben, Ms. Bachmann’s spokesman.

“But I do know that right now she is particularly concerned about defunding Obamacare, this whole budget process,” he said. “Those are the time-pressing issues for her.”

Then why is she back focusing on the "earthquake issue" on her twitter and in emails to supporters?

Dear Fellow Conservative,

You may have seen the breaking news out of Washington that Barack Obama has demanded the United States Department of Justice stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) - the law that defines marriage between one man and one woman - in court cases.

I'm sending you this urgent message because if we don't join together and take action today, it could be a crushing blow to the traditional marriage movement.

I've put together an emergency petition drive to send a message to Barack Obama that support for traditional marriage is overwhelmingly strong across the country. And I'm asking that you follow this link immediately to sign the petition.

This is just the beginning in our fight to repeal Barack Obama in 2012. Had Barack Obama been on the ballot in 2010, he would have gone down in a fiery defeat. Yet he continues to push his far-left, socialist agenda on the American people. And today, he has declared war on marriage.

As conservatives, we must push for a new type of "change" in our country and fight for our shared values. And you can start today by making sure Barack Obama hears us loud and clear- we stand for traditional marriage.

Please follow this link right away to sign my "Support Traditional Marriage" petition. I've set a goal to collect at least 50,000 signatures in the next 48 hours.

After signing the petition, I hope you will consider making a generous donation of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more. Your contribution will enable me to spread this petition to millions of conservative activists across the country.

This is not the end of the fight to save traditional marriage, it is only the beginning. I will continue to do everything in my power to fight back against Barack Obama's attacks on marriage and I hope you will join me by adding your name to my "Support Traditional Marriage" petition.

Thank you for your support.

Michele Bachmann

P.S. Barack Obama has declared war on marriage. He has instructed the Department of Justice to stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act in court, jeopardizing the hard work we have put into legally defining marriage between one man and one woman. Your support is needed right away to rally support for traditional marriage. I've launched a "Support Traditional Marriage" petition and need to collect at least 50,000 signatures in the next 48 hours. Please follow this link to sign the petition today and stay tuned for more updates in the fight to save traditional marriage. Thank you.

This doesn't sound like Michele Bachmann isn't spending any time on this issue to me.

Michele Bachmann to Speak at Upcoming Theocrat Conference

The conference will be webcast all over the US. Her theocrat pal, David Barton, will also be speaking.

From the conference promotion page:

History is clear: the founders of our country drew their inspiration, wisdom, and direction from the Bible. Beginning in colonial times, church leaders spoke to their congregations about the events and issues of the day in the context of Biblical truth. Rediscover God in America will lay a foundation of critical knowledge for your congregation. They'll learn how to interpret and assess current events in light of God's Word, as our founding fathers did, and how to respond Biblically and take action that aligns with His truth.

A just and prosperous nation is born and sustained by truth, not compromise. Join with thousands of churches across the nation! Bring the truth about God and America to your congregation and community.

Will the mainstream media cover Bachmann's appearance to this audience? They should. It's interesting to note that while Presidential potential candidates Haley Barbour and Newt Gingrich are speaking to this crowd, Pawlenty appears to be avoiding them.

Bachmann's Tea Party Caucus is Shrinking

Read about it at Congress Matters:

The Hill:

The caucus held its first meeting of the 112th Congress Monday with around 30 members in attendance, including 11 freshmen.

Fewer than a dozen Republican freshmen have joined the House Tea Party Caucus, so far — a relatively anemic number given the size of the class and the fact that many were helped to victory in 2010 by Tea Party activists.

[...]

While Bachmann said she expects the number of lawmakers in the caucus to increase, the list starts at just 50 members, fewer than the 52 House Republicans who were members of the caucus in the 111th Congress.

That is pretty anemic! In fact, it means that Tea Party Caucus ranks have actually diminished under the "leadership" of Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs Michele Bachmann (R-MN-06), which is really remarkable given the constant fluffing the Teabagger contingent gets from the national press. Seriously, who would have guessed that there would be fewer members of the caucus in this Congress versus last?

Michele Bachmann Says President Obama is Organizing Buses to Madison

From The Right Scoop:

Why Isn't Bachman Doing Anything About Rising Gas Prices?

Remember when Bachmann took credit for lowering gas prices?

If Michele Bachmann is Elected POTUS, Will She Put Pagans and Blasphemers in Prison?

Whatever happened to Bachmann's Constitution classes?

Wasn't Bachmann going to invite theocrat David Barton to teach Congress members?

David Barton, like Bachmann is a theocrat who believes this is a Christian nation. Barton cites an old case:

...in The People v. Ruggles, 8 Johns. 290, 294, 295, Chancellor Kent, the great commentator on American law, speaking as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of New York, said:

“The people of this State, in common with the people of this country, profess the general doctrines of Christianity, as the rule of their faith and practice. We are a Christian people, and the morality of the country is deeply engrafted upon Christianity and not upon the doctrines or worships of those impostors other religions.”

Bachmann's favorite punk preachers, The Bradlee Bunch also cites "People v. Ruggles" in this creative interpretation of the First Amendment:

In People v. Ruggles, 1811, the Supreme Court of New York sentenced a man to be imprisoned for 3 months and to pay a fine of $500.00. Why? “…for that he did, on the 2nd day of September, 1810…wickedly, maliciously, and blasphemously, utter, and with a loud voice publish, and of concerning the Christian religion, and of and concerning Jesus Christ, the false, scandalous, malicious, wicked, and blasphemous words in contempt of the Christian religion.”

Therefore, the first amendment has absolutely nothing to do with opening the doors to any kind of paganism being able to spew their belief systems on people publicly!

Reporters need to ask whether Bachmann will ask her Attorney General to enforce this interpretation of the Constitution and arrest and imprison people who "spew their belief systems".
