Bradlee Dean Wants MN Lawmaker Steve Simon Removed From Office

Hello, IRS?

Today, after saying there was no difference between President Obama and Osama Bin Laden, Bachmann's favorite punk preacher Bradlee Dean gave his reasons for chickening out of an interview with a Newsweek reporter. Then he segued into a vicious rant about Rep Steve Simon (DFL Hopkins/St. Louis Park). Bradlee Dean says homosexuals should not receive equal treatment under the law as Rep. Simon suggested... Bradlee Dean wants gays treated like criminals.

Then Bradlee Dean has this message for Rep. Simon:

"You need to be removed - yes, I said it from the pulpit, you need to be removed."

This is what got Bradlee Dean all hot and bothered (422,912 views):

Bradlee Dean Says No Difference Between President Obama & Osama Bin Laden

Today, Bachmann's favorite punk preacher says there's no difference... even says President Obama has "done more damage". Bradlee Dean also says (at 2:40):

"You have to ask yourself - who is in the White House? He is not one of you"

We've been reporting on the close ties between the Bradlee Bunch and MN GOP politicians for quite awhile. Monday, Eva mentioned that Bradlee Dean interviewed Senate author of the Marriage Amendment bill, Paul Gazelka. Does Paul Gazelka agree with Bradlee Dean that the President is no better or even worse than Osama Bin Laden?

Bachmann - Governor Wants to Add "Almost a 100 Thousand New People to Minnesota's Overburdened Welfare Rolls"

Bachmann took some time out from her campaign to return to the MN Senate and say lots of dumb stuff... no word whether she prayed over the desks of legislators or violated the rules of the Senate by using the Senate chambers as the set for a commercial endorsement.

A trip down memory lane...

Bradlee Dean Chickens Out of Another Interview

Bradlee & Jake's ministry of hate tweets:

This is what the link says:

Newsweek Requests an Interview!

Michelle Goldberg from Newsweek called to request an interview with Bradlee Dean. Her topic: how the Tea Party is now the "Christian Right" movement and how this has evolved. After doing our research and reading her articles we quickly realized that she is constantly trying to demonize Christians for their work. She spends much of her time attacking Christians for fighting against abortion and homosexuality, and also recently wrote a book called The Rise of Christian Nationalism, in which she attacks Christians for telling people that this nation was founded upon Judeo-Christian principles. Although Bradlee was tempted to meet with her and teach her a thing or two, we felt it was not worth our time to give her the opportunity to take free shots at our Christ and His servants. On the contrary, we feel it necessary to let America know that Newsweek should know better than to allow such bias reporting and it is our duty as Americans to make our voice heard, and so we have!

... and like Bachmann, they use their chicken-hearted cowardice to raise money:

What does Bachmann's favorite punk preacher have to fear from a reporter? A few month ago, the Bradlee Bunch chickened out of appearing on the Shannon Files.

Bachmann Testifies for Her Bridge/Jobs Stimulus Boondoggle Bill

It's pathetic.

First, Bachmann gets the Chairman's name wrong and seems to have trouble reading from a prepared text. Bachmann, of course has ridiculed President Obama for using a TelePrompter.

Much of Bachmann's claims can be compared with the facts at Karl Bremer's Ripple in Stillwater blog.

I'll let the readers fact-check Bachmann's idiotic arguments.

One stood out for me - the claim the bridge construction would stimulate the economy and create jobs:

According to MnDOT, if the project moves forward, an estimated 22,970 jobs will be created per year and at peak construction, over 6 thousand full-time workers will be required.

That many? Really?

I was looking at MnDOT's "fun facts" for the I-35W St. Anthony Falls Bridge that replaced the bridge that fell:

600 - highest number of construction personnel on site

Majority Leader Matt Dean Joins Mentor Michele Bachmann in Embarrassing Minnesota Worldwide

It's the custom of authoritarians to bully artists. Our local Stalinists are no exception as the Guardian U.K. explains:

Pencil-necked? Maybe. Thief? No way. Award-winning author Neil Gaiman has defended himself against Republican Matt Dean's extraordinary claim that he is a "pencil-necked little weasel who stole $45,000 from the state of Minnesota".

The astonishing attack from the Minnesota House of Representatives majority leader, published in the Star Tribune yesterday, centred on a fee of $45,000 (£27,000) paid to Gaiman – "who I hate," Dean added – from state art funds last year for a speaking appearance at Stillwater Library in Minnesota.

Describing the comments as "bullying schoolyard nonsense", Gaiman said Dean's assertion that he stole the money "is a lie".

Over at the City Pages Blotter Neil Gaiman explained how it felt to have the Speaker of the House bully him:

Why would I talk to him? There are signals that human beings give off. There are human being signals that say "I would like to talk to you. I would like to open a discourse with you."

And then there are signals that human beings give off that say "I am really the kind of person who wants to be there with your head down a toilet, my hand on your neck, and the other hand flushing it." And as far as I can tell, Rep. Dean gives off the toilet-flushing signals. I mean, "Who I hate?" "Thief?" I don't get it.

Matt Dean has apparently been learning bullying from his mentor Michele Bachmann.... from the DB archives (2006):

Bachmann on schoolyard bullying:

I think for all us our experience in public schools is there have always been bullies, always have been, always will be.
i just don't know how we're ever going to get to point of zero tolerance and
what does it mean?

I guess, several questions that was comment, one question would be what would be our definition of bullying? will it get to the point where we are completely stifling free speech and expression? will it mean that what form of behavior will there be, will we be expecting boys to be girls what is it exactly that we're asking for?

i don't say that as a sexist comment but there are just differences with boys and girls when they're on the playground, when they're in the classroom.

None of us like inappropriate behavior, none of us like sassy children, but there's just a fact of life that as we grow up, we're kind of little barbarians when we're two and our process as mothers and fathers is to civilize our children

I just don't know how we can realistically expect a zero tolerance of bullying behavior.

Bachmann Is Getting God to Pick Her Campaign Staff

Right Wing Watch:

As Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann prepares to launch her bid for the presidency, she is asking for God to make her campaign staff picks. While speaking to Dan Cella of Financial Issues Stewardship Ministries, who claims to have “developed and uses a Biblically-Responsible system of managing and picking stocks with great success,” Bachmann called upon listeners to pray that God will give her and her husband “a special anointing on how to put our team together” for the campaign and that “He would bring those people to us.”

"a Biblically-Responsible system of managing and picking stocks with great success,”? Geez, with her pardon pal Frank Vennes under indictment for fraud and money laundering, you think Bachmann would steer clear of the "God and Money" hucksters.

But, getting back to Bachmann & God, isn't it really special that we have a POTUS hopeful with a direct line to the God?

When is the mainstream media going to start asking Bachmann about her ability to converse with The Almighty? Here's Bachmann talking about her special relationship with The Creator:

Bachmann Wants More Torture, More "Small-Scale Wars"

Bachmann was on Fox pretending to be an expert (transcript) about foreign policy (for Bachmann's foreign policy credentials see Bachmannistan).

Bachmann, the self-styled "constitutionalist" said the U.S. needed to "maintain strong special operations. So we have effectively small-scale wars".... yep, lotsa little undeclared wars overseas, and forget about the Bill of Rights:

I think the days of nation building going in are something that is not the right direction for the country. And also I think to not have this be a criminal act, as opposed to a military act, that's something else I want to look at, too, because we get into real troubled waters when we capture these people and then think that we have to give a Miranda warning and lawyer them up. That would also be very difficult, too. This was a real success story, But it also provides us lessons for where we need to go from here.

Bachmann went all happy and skippy about waterboarding:

VAN SUSTEREN: Which leads me to the last question -- enhanced interrogation or torture, whatever you want to call it. You for it or against it?

BACHMANN: Well, I don't think anyone is for torture. But for interrogation, yes, absolutely.

VAN SUSTEREN: Waterboarding?

BACHMANN: We waterboarded three individuals. One of those individuals was KSM. And you know, there's other people who were involved in that -- I wasn't involved in that -- who've said that that did yield information that has kept American safe. Number one, our priority has to be to keep America and our people safe. That's number one. And what we have learned from this effort is that Gitmo worked. Detention works. Interrogation works. We need to thank the interrogation community and thank the intelligence community and thank the SEALs who were involved in this, as well, because they're the one who deserve the credit.

Frank Vennes Makes First Appearance in Federal Court

Frank Vennes appeared in Federal Court in St. Paul today and pled not guilty (no surprise) to charges related to his involvement in the Petters Ponzi scam. Vennes will have a chance to change his plea later this month. If there is a trial, it will likely not happen before August.

Frank Vennes was indicted April 20th along with Bruce Prevost and David Harrold.

It was a short hearing, so I only was able to do a few quick sketches (colored them in later) Click to make them bigger.

Minnesota House Civil Law Committee Passes 2011 Version of Bachmann Amendment

This time the wording of the amendment is marriage alone, rather than "marriage or its legal equivalent" as it was during Bachmann's days in the legislature. It was also interesting that proponent legislators didn't say much during the hearing, while opponents did. Andy Birkey has coverage of the hearing at the Minnesota Independent.

Over this past weekend, Bradlee Dean interviewed Senate Author, Paul Gazelka about the bill. After the interview, Dean opined that sodomy laws should be enforced. Enforcing sodomy laws would put gays in prison.
