Does Michele Bachmann Think Griswold v Connecticut Was an Activist SCOTUS Decision?

Today is the aniversary of the Griswold decision which held that Connecticut's law against the sale of contraceptives was unconstitutional. Does Michele Bachmann think we should go back to the days when contraceptives were illegal?

The Return of the Bachmann & Palin Catfight

Michelle Malkin tweets:

I'm guessing this is what she must be talking about.

Speaking of catfights... John Ervin, playwright, movie producer and friend of Dump Bachmannn has a new play in the upcoming Fringe Festival called “The Devil Wears 9/11”:

Minneapolis, MN, June 1, 2011. “The Devil Wears 9/11” - writer-director John Ervin’s sociopathic spoof for the 2011 Minnesota Fringe Festival - looks forward to the near future by roasting key figures from the recent past. The tenth anniversary of 9/11 becomes ground zero for some key forces aiming to descend upon ... Ground Zero.

Blending “Fahrenheit 9/11” with “Project Runway”, "The Devil Wears 9/11" proudly drops more big names in politics, religion, fashion and entertainment than any show in the entire history of Minnesota Fringe! We think.

It will be at the Intermedia Arts. August 5th - August 14th.

Here's a peek at Ervin's "Catfight":

Michele Bachmann's Legislative Career

ABC News has an article about Michele Bachmann's single minded focus on her "earthquake issue" while in the state senate. It quotes Michele Bachmann, former State Senator Don Betzold, Senator Marty and Senator Dibble.

While warnings against the perceived threats of “activist judges” on marriage remains a staple of the current debate and is vintage Bachmann, she took things further.

Minnesota is a tolerant state, Bachmann said.

“We do think it’s unfair and intolerant to impose upon the vast overwhelming number of people who oppose homosexuality the public cost of homosexuality,” said Bachmann during the debate.

One perceived cost was in the public schools.

“They (K-12 students) will be required to learn homosexuality is normal, natural, and perhaps you should try it,” she said.

Bachmann raised the specter of group sex and other behaviors as outgrowths of same-sex marriage.

Bachmann’s advocacy opened a window into the then senator’s family life.

Helen LaFave, Bachmann’s step-sister and a lesbian, after one Senate committee hearing appealed to her step-sister “to realize what you’re doing to people throughout the state and within your own family (with the amendment).”

Bachmann Talks About Being the "Tip of the Spear" on the Bradlee Dean Amendment

Bachmann used to be the "Tip of the Spear" for the bigoted, so-called "Marriage Amendment":

Not anymore... the new Tip of the Spear is Pastor Tracksuit.

Here's what could be the first in the onslaught of Bradlee Dean Amendment advertisements:

Video: Michele Bachmann Palling Around With Ralph Reed

Abramoff crony Ralph Reed interviews Bachmann:

State Campaign Finance Board Fines U.S. Navy Vets Charity Fraudster

Award-winning, investigative journalist Karl Bremer at Ripple in Stillwater:

The Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board (CFB) this week fined the man representing himself as “Bobby Thompson” $21,000 for making seven campaign contributions with a false identity in an attempt to circumvent state campaign finance laws.

Now they just have to find him.

The contributions were made under the name “Bobby Thompson” and “Maria D’Annuzio” to the Minnesota House Republican Campaign Committee (HRCC), the Republican-leaning Patriot PAC run by GOP political operative Joey Gerdin, the Seifert for Governor Committee, and Citizens for David Carlson Committee, 67B, another GOP candidate committee.

The fines were the result of an investigation into a complaint filed by myself with the CFB in July 2010 that alleged illegal campaign contributions by “Thompson.” “Thompson” was the subject of my award-winning investigative series that appeared on RippleInStillwater.com and DumpBachmann.com.

The series, largely ignored by the mainstream media, began with the revelation of “Thompson’s” $10,000 donation to Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s fundraiser in April 2010. “Thompson” had donated tens of thousands of dollars more to Minnesota candidates and party units—all Republican—over several years before going on the lam in the wake of investigations by the St. Petersburg Times and attorneys general in several states.

And Bachmann wasn't the the only GOP politico to get some of Bobby Thompson's dirty $$$. It's a fascinating story - read the whole thing.

Michele Bachmann says Planned Parenthood is "corrupt" and "committing crimes"

CBS:

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann on Friday accused Planned Parenthood of turning a blind eye to the trafficking of underage girls and committing unspecified crimes that she said were "so disgusting" she could not articulate them.

"We are giving money to corrupt organizations like Planned Parenthood that are committing crimes and enabling young minor girls and covering up issues I don't even want to talk about it because it is so disgusting," Bachmann said to an audience of conservatives at the Faith & Freedom Coalition conference in Washington.

CBS fact-checked Bachmann's claims:

Asked to elaborate on Bachmann's claims, a spokesman pointed to the work of conservative activist Lila Rose. Rose's undercover videos, the spokesman said, show a Planned Parenthood employee "giving tacit endorsement of sex trafficking, and offering testing and other services to an apparent pimp's underage girls." Planned Parenthood fired the employee after the video was released.

Planned Parenthood cannot use federal money to pay for abortions, though conservatives suggest the distinction is irrelevant. It receives federal funding to provide family planning services, annual exams, cancer screenings, contraception visits and testing and treatments for sexually transmitted infections.

Michele Bachmann to Join Tim Pawlenty in GOP Candidates Debate in New Hampshire

Talking Points Memo has the story. Meanwhile Tim Pawlenty's supporters are complaining to the media about Michele Bachmann. Some of them even give their names.

Bachmann: "I will have to fight Republicans as well as Democrats"

Bachmann said after hearing an audio clip of Pawlenty talking about universal health care (at about 6:30):

"It's very important when people look at the candidates, they've got to know who we have been throughout our voting history..."

Bachmann refused to answer a question about whether she would campaign for Pawlenty if he were the nominee.

Pawlenty Pals Say Nasty Stuff About Bachmann

Politico:

A longtime Minnesota Republican operative who hasn’t taken sides but knows Pawlenty well and has a good relationship with Bachmann speculated that the former governor “would like to rip her lungs out right now.”

Creepy! What's with the violent MN Republican trash talk? If they're comfortable talking about ripping the lungs out of a woman, is it any wonder a prominent MN Republican was arrested for assault?
