In October 5 Interview Bachmann (Again) Says She Communicates With God

The video interview is on the Charisma Magazine website and a partial transcript here.

In the video, the interviewer asked bachmann if she thinks she is a modern-day Esther (Bachmann compared herself to Esther years ago at a 2004 Edwatch confab) Bachmann gives a summary of other stuff God called her to do and concludes:

"...each step has just been a call to be faithful. That's what Im trying to do, and whatever that calling has been in my life, to be faithful to that calling. That's what I'm trying to do now - be faithful to that calling and it's the Lord that clears the path.

Whoa, does that sound a lot like what she said in Pastor Mac's Living Word church back in 2006?

“Twenty-two months ago, He called me to run for United States Congress. And my husband thought, you need to do this. This is a big deal to do something like this. So we set aside three days where we fasted and we prayed, and long about the afternoon of day two, we knew. We knew that we knew that we knew. This was it. And so we jumped in, and little did we know that out of 435 seats for Congress, this race would turn in to being one of the top three in the country.”

Sadly, our videos of Bachmann at the Living Word are temporarily gone from the internet thanks to a complaint by Bradlee Dean.

Here's a video I put together for MnIndy in 2008:

Bachmann in Interview Returns to Her Theocratic Roots - Supports "Personhood" Laws

Bachmann reply to a question by Steve Deace (podcast here) about "confusion" about "personhood" laws. Bachmann replied that she "would not settle" and life began at conception.

Personhood laws would outlaw some forms of contraception and in-vitro fertilization.

Also supports"DOMA-like law" to make marriage for "man and a woman only" and a federal marriage amendment.

Bachmann also says she "succeeded" in getting the Minnesota Marriage Amendment on the ballot.

"There is no other candidate in the race but me who will actually stand up and fight to the bitter end to repeal socialized medicine, repeal taxpayer-funded abortion and deal with this issue of same-sex marriage. I have done it before and I will do it again."

Goldbricker Michele Bachmann: " if anyone will not work, neither should he eat"

Bachmann who missed nearly 60% of House roll call votes between July and September and spent much of time at the IRS on maternity leave had this to say about the work ethic at the FRC today:

"Our nation needs to stop doing for people what they can and should do for themselves. That provides the principle of a national work ethic that we have sadly forgotten. That means an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. Self reliance means, if anyone will not work, neither should he eat."

SCTimes: Bachmann Won't Quit

SC Times:

Despite evidence of disarray and decline, there is no sign of quit in the Bachmann campaign.

If there were any doubts about whether the three-term congresswoman from Stillwater could continue through the early nominating contests, which begin with the Iowa caucuses Jan. 3, the Bachmann camp has made announcements in recent days that would seem to put those reservations to rest.

If Bachmann expects to get some of Herman Cain's supporters, she may be pleased with this news:

A new woman alleging sexual harassment by presidential hopeful Herman Cain will break her silence at a news conference with her powerhouse attorney Gloria Allred Monday afternoon in New York City, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Michele Bachmann Speaking at the Family Research Council Tomorrow Morning

She's back to scraping the bottom of the barrel - her theocratic roots.

November 05, 2011

Dear ___,

I'd like to invite you to watch a special webcast this Monday morning, November 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. EST. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) will be giving a special "Values Speech" from FRC headquarters in Washington, D.C.

FRC Action has neither endorsed nor supported any of the presidential candidates who appeared at our recent Values Voter Summit, including Congresswoman Bachmann. We, like you, hope to hear her views on critical issues of policy that affect this country and, in particular, the institution of the family in all of its aspects. We hope to host similar speeches from other candidates in the coming months.

Please join us online at 10:30 a.m. Monday for Congresswoman Michele Bachmann's live remarks.

Sincerely,

Tony Perkins
President

P.S. Please forward this email to at least one friend.

Ron Paul Upstages Bachmann in Her Own District - UPDATE: Ron Paul Pwn3s Bradlee Bunch

UPDATE: At a "closed forum in St. Cloud" yesterday, Ron Paul gave a plain, simple answer to a dumb question from one of the Annandale mullahs:

"I'm a strong opponent to theocracy."

$8 Million Earmark From 2005 Haunts Bachmann's Boondoggle Bridge

The Strib:

The $8 million consists of "authorizations that were made into law two years before I was even a member of Congress," the Minnesota Republican said. "We are currently working with the committee of jurisdiction to ensure this legislation is offset. Make no mistake; it will be offset."

Any House bill that increases federal spending must offset the spending with equivalent cuts.

Two Twin Cities Democrats in Congress, U.S. Reps. Betty McCollum and Keith Ellison, have seized on the earmark question, urging colleagues to keep Bachmann's bill off the House suspension calendar -- a fast track for passage without debate.

"This bill requires the construction of an exotic $700 million 'extradosed' bridge design, designates a specific location, and comes with a CBO-scored price tag which makes H.R. 850 the equivalent of a congressional earmark," the letter said.

The money quote:

"If we thought about politics as normal this wouldn't be a really big deal, but it's about Michele Bachmann," Mayor David Beaudet said. "She's the one that made this a big political issue. Even if she finds an offset, it's still an earmark and a lot of those Tea Party people don't want to vote for earmarks."

Bachmann's BFF Larry Klayman is Flat Broke

Miami New Times (via Right Wing Watch):

What with all of his insane lawsuits against the Clintons, Facebook, Rachel Maddow, President Obama, and his own mother, conservative Florida activist and lawyer Larry Klayman is pretty damn busy.

Too busy to defend his real clients, apparently. The Florida Bar has issued a public reprimand of Klayman for taking a $25,000 payment to represent a woman in a high-profile criminal case and then allegedly failing to, y'know, do any lawyerin'.

When he was ordered to pay the client back, Klayman missed payments, whining in court documents that he's so broke he can't afford a bankruptcy lawyer.

Yep, that could possibly explain why he is suing MnIndy and Rachel Maddow on behalf of Bradlee Dean. It might also explain why he is shilling for the terrorist cult MEK (with Bachmann's help).

Also from Right Wing Watch:

Finally, the quote of the day from Michele Bachmann: "You see, there’s a reason our Founding Fathers decided to establish our political capital in a different city than our financial capital. It’s time for us to reaffirm the wisdom of that decision by getting Washington D.C. out of free markets. I’m running for president because I understand the difference between free markets and Bernie Madoff style government."

Shouldn't Bachmann have instead used the term "Frank Vennes style government"?

Did Bachmann Really Say She Has No Surprises? Really?

Yep, she did and here's the interview on The Today Show. Bachmann also says she can create millions of jobs:

Hilarious. People will be able to judge for themselves if Michele Bachmann has no skeletons in her closet when our book "The Madness of Michele Bachmann" arrives soon in bookstores and e-books - for a sneak peek into Bachmann's skeleton closet, click on the graphic on the right sidebar with the skeletons. We will be updating the list soon with a newly discovered bag of bones from Bachmann's past - stay tuned.

Also, with her right-wing competition in the GOP nomination race in scandal free-fall, Bachmann seems to have renewed energy for the saying crazy stuff like:

“It’s very troubling to see some United States justices bring in sharia law,” Bachmann said in a radio interview with WHO Radio in Iowa. “Sharia law … certainly does not have a place in a United States courtroom, nor should it be followed by United States judges.”

Yup, she said that yesterday - read the whole article at ABC News.

Stillwater Bridge Boondoggle Supporters Bend the Truth on Obama Administration Support

Karl Bremer at Ripple in Stillwater explains the administration position doesn't go as far as trashing Federal law:

“What Ray LaHood said was that the Obama Administration is committed to getting this project solved, but totally legally—and he kept referring back to this—within the law,” McComber said.

LaHood did not say he or Obama supported an exemption from the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act to get the bridge built, and did not express support for any specific bridge proposal, McComber said. There was some discussion about the need to streamline federal approval processes for infrastructure projects when multiple agencies are involved, said McComber, but there was no talk about including an exemption from the Act in a “streamlining” of the process to get the St. Croix bridge problem resolved.

Karl also updates the sorry saga of the Stillwater City Council's lossing battle to illegally donate TIF funds to bridge boondoggle lobbyists. Read the whole article from the hardest working investigative reporter in the workingest state in the whole United States.

Bachmann Fundraising With Her New Book

UPDATE: Bachmann has already used the title of her book to needle Herman Cain:

GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann is putting herself forward as an alternative to rival Herman Cain, who is dealing with a crisis these days. Bachmann spoke at a “tele-town hall” this afternoon with members of the National Federation of Independent Business, the National Restaurant Association (which Cain used to lead; it’s during his tenure there that the allegations of sexual harassment were made), the National Association of Home Builders and the Associated Builders and Contractors. In the course of a 45 minute call, Bachmann used the phrase “core of conviction” five different times to describe herself, never once referring to her “titanium spine” as had been her habit since June. ( BTW: “Core of Conviction” is the title of Bachmann’s soon-to-be-released book.)

Looks like "core of conviction" has entered the list of oft-repeated Bachmann catch phrases such as "titanium spine", "23 foster kids" and "tax litigation attorney".

Email from you-know-who:

Dear ________,

I have very exciting news to share, and as one of my most valued supporters, I wanted you to be the first to know! I am proud to announce that my first book, Core of Conviction is being published later this month.

In Core of Conviction, I open up about myself, and tell the stories that shaped my goals and determination to fight for America. I speak from the heart about my childhood, growing up in Iowa and Minnesota- grounded by my faith and family; about following my dreams- attending college and law school; about starting a successful small business and family in Minnesota; and about my “accidental” career in politics.

As one of my strongest supporters, I would like to send you your own copy today! With a donation of $75 to my campaign, I will send you an autographed copy of Core of Conviction, and with a donation of $125 I will send you a personalized autographed copy.

I have not nor will ever be your “typical politician.” I entered the public square because I refused to sit by and watch our government make detrimental decisions impacting our children and grandchildren’s future. I started by making calls and writing letters to the local elected leaders, I ran for school board and in 2000 I was elected to Minnesota’s State Senate. That was the start of an amazing journey from Minnesota to the U.S. Congress, and you will read in Core of Conviction, how this journey has progressed to a campaign for President of the United States.

Liberals across the country believe if they defeat our campaign, the Tea Party movement and the values of constitutional conservatism will be eliminated -- gone for good. I need your support to defend myself and our shared constitutional values right away. Please show your support for our shared conservative beliefs by making a donation of $75 or more today.

This book will reinforce what you, as one of my strongest supporters already know; our country is in dire need of new leadership, and I am the true conservative in this race who has the leadership and experience necessary to turn our economy and government around.

This special offer is only being made to my supporters over email and I hope you will show your support by donating $75 or more today to receive an autographed copy of Core of Conviction today or if you would like it personally inscribed to you or a loved one then I hope you will consider a donation of $125.

Thank you for your continued support and friendship. May God bless America.

Sincerely,

Michele Bachmann

Wow, what a coincidence! Dump Bachmann's "The Madness of Michele Bachmann" hits the bookstores about the same time (E-Book available here)

If you're on Facebook, visit and "like" The Madness of Michele Bachmann FB page.

Here's the Drinking Liberally players (via The Cucking Stool) reading quotes from the book:

Bachmann Hires Right-Wing Twit Wesley Donehue

Politico:

Michele Bachmann's campaign announced today it's hired Wesley Donehue, a well-known South Carolina strategist to aid her hopes in the Palmetto State.

TPM:

The Associated Press put out a story this week showing that South Carolina’s voter I.D. law “appears to be hitting black precincts in the state the hardest.”

One person who really loved the story was Wesley Donehue, the CEO of Donehue Direct and a political strategist for the South Carolina Senate Republican Caucus, who took to Twitter to write that the story “proves EXACTLY why we need Voter ID in SC.”

What a twit. Keith Olbermann on Bachmann's new hire:

Bachmann Warns About Candidates With "Surprises"

AP Via Politico quotes Bachmann making a reference to recent revelations about Herman Cain:

"This is the year when we can't have any surprises with our candidate."

She can claim to not have any "surprises" until "The Madness of Michele Bachmann" hits the bookstores (E-Book available here)

What a Turkey - Bachmann Participating in Family Leader Thanksgiving Event

Via Right Wing Watch - Iowa's theocratic Family Leader is having a Thanksgiving forum and Michele Bachmann will be there.

Right Wing Watch also directs us to an article at CapitolBeatOK in which Phyllis Schlafly gives Bachmann the boost she needs after being thrown under the bus by Bradlee Dean:

“As for [U.S. Rep.] Michelle Bachman, I think she has been the best at handling, or pushing back, at the press. She handles the issue well and seems to be more knowledgeable and better informed than most. I also think she does well at talking about the financial mess we're in.”

Hilarious!
